Crape Myrtle Flowers Enter Best Viewing Period in Hongjiang City

Recently, over 600 mu (40 hectares) of crape myrtle flowers at the Shuiyuanshan Flower Sea Scenic Area in Qiancheng Town, Hongjiang City, are in full bloom. The slopes are awash with vibrant purplish red and pinky white blossoms, attracting more than a thousand visitors in a single day.

Inside the scenic area, the terraced flower fields meander along the mountain slopes, with red crape myrtles in full bloom. The site now features speical programs like drone photography areas and Hanfu dress-up zones. Many visitors dressed in traditional attire stroll along the floral pathways. "The blossoms and Hanfu complement each other perfectly, making the park an incredibly picturesque setting," remarked Wu Mulan, a tourist from Zhijiang Dong Autonomous County, after putting on the traditional attire.

"These crape myrtles will bloom until September, but now is the prime viewing season," said the head of the scenic area. This variety, known as the 'Hundred-Day Red' for its long flowering period, displays its most vibrant colors between July and August.

Zhang Rongxuan, a photography enthusiast from Chenxi County in Huaihua, said, "The endless sea of flowers, glowing like sunset clouds, offers a rare and stunning photo backdrop."
